Senior Researcher Energy Systems

Øivind Berg holds a MSc in Physics from NTNU (1977), has been 3 years as research scientist at FFI, division of underwater acoustics in Horten, developing digital signal processing applications for sub‐marines.

36 years of experience from nuclear research and development at the Institute for Energy Technology, IFE, hosting the OECD Halden Reactor Project, serving more than 100 organisations in 20 countries.

Berg has had various positions at IFE: department manager, international project management co‐ordination and served as senior advisor to the IFE management in development of R&D strategies, including commercialization and creation of spin‐off companies.

Areas of expertise include: reactor physics, predictive reactor core control & simulation, condition monitoring and diagnosis, decision support systems, control room systems, human factors and integrated operations related to man‐technology‐organization (MTO). Long experience as research/project manager.

Since 2017, senior advisor at Smart Innovation Norway participating in the INVADE project on ethics and development of various EU applications.
